Another way to make your dental care more affordable for you is to spread your treatments out. Some non-urgent treatments can be done over multiple sessions over a period of time, thus spreading the cost as well so it doesn’t come in one big hit.
There are also ways to receive low-cost dental with WINZ dental payment. You don’t necessarily need to be on a work and income benefit, nor a superannuitant to qualify. Some restrictions do apply, but if you are struggling to pay for your dental care and earn under a specified amount, you may qualify to receive payment support from the government. This payment can cover up to $300 for emergency dental treatment a year and is soon being raised to $1000 a year (as of 1 December 2022).
